AN EXCITING DESIGN ADVENTURE

I can't get over the fact that this unbelievably fun flat once was a Danish schoolhouse. Right in the heart of vibrant Copenhagen, this amazing apartment is filled with whimsical details and plenty of funky artwork. I'm particularly loving the headless bear sculpture by American artist Richard Colman. Is definitely a playful space where form and color create an exciting design adventure.

SILVER LININGS

This concrete-centric hotel is a new hospitality haven in Los Angleles' Koreantown. Designer Sean Knibb of Knibb Design is responsible for the stylish and modern look of The Line Hotel's minimalist yet striking interiors — where he introduced a variety of textures, patterns and colors to balance out the powering presence of concrete. I'm mildly obsessed with the overall vision of this gorgeous hotel.

AN ARTFUL BACKYARD

Now that warmer weather is here to stay, and Summer is not far away, these groovy deck chairs will most likely be a hit among your artistic friends. Each chair is made of a Merpauh frame and sailcloth fabric digitally printed with artwork by artilst like Damien Hirst, Sam Taylor-Wood, Tracey Emin, among others. They would make a great collection for any backyard. Any takers?

FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE

I can't get enough of this sweet apartment in St. Petersburg, Russia. It's design is an fresh interpretation of Scandinavian tradition mixed with mid-century modern minimalism by Russian architectural firm Int2. White walls and neutral floors are background to a soft palette of pastel like coral, blue, pearl gray, creating an atmosphere of warmth and coziness. But, of course, the best part of this flat is the its simplicity and beautiful attention to details.

GRAY MATTERS

Gray is one of may favorite colors. This gorgeous neutral is ideal for creating calming and sophisticated interiors like in this beautiful house in the Swedish countryside. Besides, gray plays well with other hues in the color wheel—making it the new white among many interior designers. Depending of its many shades, gray can add dimension and create different moods in any room. Are you a fan of gray? Happy weekend!

Are you one of those people that still has a long list of spring cleaning chores to accomplish but just hasn't had the time (or the will) to getting them done? With Spring almost reaching the halfway mark, I think it's time to roll up your sleeves to avoid the list from getting any longer — and of course get your home ready for Summer. These five easy steps will help you get the ball rolling and give you the push you so desperately need:

A NEUTRAL START

Having a neutral color base for your home will make it easier to introduce pops of color here and there. Just like in this dazzling Oslo home, a color palette of gray, black and white creates a perfect backdrop for the sprinkles of soft aqua and yellow they introduced in the kitchen and dining areas. The pseudo English style of the decor is the perfect complement to the industrial chic feel of the home.

WORTHY OF A CELEBRATION

To celebrate Cinco De Mayo I thought I would take you on a virtual getaway to Mexico City. And what better place to stay that at the chic and colorful Condesa DF Hotel  — located in the historic district of Condesa, hence the name. Its happy design, by interior designer India Mahdavi, merges the bohemian spirit of the neighborhood with a fresh and modern style. A vibrant turquoise blue it's quite the perfect color to set off the rich wooden and cowhide textures in the hotel's lobby and bar—where I think we would toast with a couple of margaritas to the occasion. Cheers!
