DESIGN ON WHEELS

This super chic little caravan puts cool back into camping. Danish company Design Camp recovers old retro caravans and refurbishes them to give them a second chance on life. After an impressive and much-deserved restoration, the trailers are transformed into modern mini boutique hotels on wheels equipped with custom bunk beds, graphic wallpaper and a trendy decor. Not a bad incentive to go on a road trip.

CONTRAST IN PLAY

There's nothing pretentious about this Swedish farmhouse. The renovation by Jonas Labbé and Johannes Schotanus of LASC Studio is all about experience and simplicity. I do love everything about this Summer retreat, but the stark contrast of the black and white exterior to the bold use of orange and turquoise in the interiors is absolutely clever.

SUMMER IS IN THE AIR

It's already feeling like Summer here in the Big Apple. With our first heat wave of the season in full force, all I can think of is sitting in a cool breezy spot—like the one in this beautiful photograph—to enjoy a refreshing lemonade. But what I love most about this setting, is that sweet wall sign made out of wire by Dixie Interiors. How cute is that. I hope you're having a nice relaxing Sunday in your favorite spot!

CELEBRATING AN ICON

Someone is celebrating a landmark birthday—and it's not me. Actually, the iconic Hans Wegner‘s Shell Chair is turning 50 and to commemorate the event Danish manufacturer Carl Hansen & Son has partnered with textile company Maharam to create 20 new re-editioned Shell Chairs—each with a different textile and coordinating wood frame. Although it was hard to pick, these are some of my faves. I just love the fabric/wood combo on them. If you want to take a look at the other 13 just click here.

A NEW AND FUN ROOMMATE

For me, traveling is about expanding my horizons and experiencing other cultures and customs. It's about enjoying the city I'm visiting as much as the place I'm going to be staying in. That's why I'm a big fan of the Room Mate Hotels — a quite affordable hotel chain that's passionate about great and innovative design. Located just steps from Barcelona's Plaça de Catalunya, the Room Mate Pau is the latest addition to their family. The friendly hotel offers a unique cosmopolitan decor full of character and great sense of humor conceived by architect and interior designer Teresa Sapey. By using oversized graphic images throughout the hotel's public areas, she created unexpected and fun spaces for the guests. The dramatic design also extends to the rooms, where white and circles are protagonists. Super fun!

BETWEEN BOHEMIAN AND CHIC

Located in one of Madrid's most legendary and trendy neighborhoods, this eclectic apartment showcases all the ingredients of its surroundings. Its owner wanted to find a style that would serve as a stage for contemporary art and his love for music – given that he's the artistic director for Universal Music. He accomplished a very retro look by putting together a delicious mixture of vintage pieces found in flea markets and auction houses complemented with others made from recycled materials like wood and metal. The result: a warm, welcoming home full of memories with a style somewhere between bohemian and chic.

GRILLING IN STYLE

Just in time to kick off the grilling season, and the unofficial start of Summer, I wanted to share with you this stunner of a BBQ grill designed by Barcelona designers Mermeladaestudio. The geometric design of the stainless-steel grill will create a far more interesting pattern on your food. “It shows elegance and its aesthetics are planned as if it was a piece of furniture. Its shape and size is ideal for reduced outdoor spaces, ” the designers explain. Have a phenomenal holiday weekend!

WHEN IN ROME

The first thing that comes to mind when I look at this gorgeous room is that it's the private residence of someone with exquisite taste. Much to my surprise, this loft-like space is a fabulous Osteria and Pizzeria not far from Rome's city center. Noses Architects designed Kook with an eclectic flair that celebrates the old-world Italian aesthetic but with enough contemporary touches to create a special place where you can enjoy delicious Roman fare.
