Let's get personal

If you're in this page now, it's because you liked what you read in my blog and want to know more about who's behind it. I'll make it short and sweet so you can keep exploring this site.

I'm a Fashion Designer turned Interior Designer living in what I consider one of the most visually inspiring cities in the world, New York City, where I live with my adorable French Bulldog, Oliver. I have been immersed in the world of design for over 15 years and not a day goes by that I don't love what I do. I have my own design firm DSGNER and my mission is to help people transform their spaces into personal sanctuaries where they can kick back and relax.

Back in my native Venezuela, I had my own fashion atelier where I had the amazing opportunity to design for television shows and commercials as well as for the Miss Venezuela organization –and also dressed one of the Miss Universe pageant winners. After moving to Los Angeles to continue my education in fashion, I met and worked with established event and set designers who introduced me to the world of interior design. There, I fell in love with what would become my new passion.

I've been lucky to work in incredible projects like being part of the creative team that redesigned the Miami estate of Sylvester Stallone, and whenever I've had the chance I've jumped into other projects like creating window displays and special events that have broadened my creative perspective.

My motto and inspiration for this blog comes from the ingenious furniture designer Charles Eames who once said: "Ideas are cheap. Always be passionate about ideas and communicating those ideas and discoveries to others in the things you make." I couldn't agree more. I want to use this blog as an outlet to share my thoughts and creative process with you and hopefully make my passion for great design contagious.

My design style is modern, somewhat minimalist with clean lines. I'm a big fan of crisp white spaces where color is brought in through furniture, accessories and when necessary through paint and fabrics. A well designed home should be warm and inviting and always reflect the owner's lifestyle and individuality.

But enough about me. Let's open up the conversation. I want to hear from you too. If you want to show your creative vein, talk about any project you're working on, or need tips or design advice, I'm here to give you a hand. Let's get started!

Designfully yours,
