A PALETTE FIT FOR SUMMER

If you're a fan of color, particularly bold and bright ones, then you'll love the fun and cheerful palette used by interior stylist Susanna Vento in these whimsical vignettes. Pretty much any color looks amazing when combined with black and white graphic patterns, like she did here. So if you're in the mood for giving your home a fresh look, here's a dose of inspiration for that Summer makeover.

A FEAST OF COLOR

As you know, it isn't easy combining different colors in any interior, but the designer of this Portuguese home was audacious enough to push the color boundaries beyond the expected. It helped to have a great foundation to make each color shine on its own, but at the same time making them all complement each other beautifully. It is quite the place to brighten up your days.

A SWEET PALETTE

For all the chocoholics out there this one is for you! I just couldn't resist the temptation and had to share this super cool project by Swiss photographer Ramses Schweizer. He concocted Chocotone, a make-shift Pantone color guide using a diverse variety of chocolate bars. He used the letters C for chocolate, N for nuts, H for honey and G for grapes, ultimately completing a sweet palette of 25 delicious tones. Do you have a favorite? Yummm!!

MIXING AT ITS BEST

Tucked away deep into Segovia's dense forest, this lovely country house is the ultimate example of sustainable construction. The living room, with breathtaking countryside views, is a mid-century modern heaven with clever touches of rustic decor. Many of their beautiful treasures come from flea markets, like the cool desk from the 50s under the stairs. But others, believe or not, come from IKEA, like the red floor lamp, red dining chairs and glossy black kitchen cabinets. Talk about knowing how to be resourceful and mixing styles creatively.

A BRIGHT IDEA

Please don't think I've abandoned you, but between a load of new projects and a nasty cold that hit me right before I left to help my dear friends with their wedding, I haven't had a moment to fulfill my blogging duties. The good news: I'm feeling better and back in action. So having just arrived from sunny Florida, where color abounds, I felt this bright and happy London apartment was the perfect inspiration for the day. Formerly a carpenter’s studio, this charming rental property was designed by Jack Mama and Nina Tolstrup of Studiomama. All the wood and streamline design gives this pad a wonderful Scandinavian vibe—just with the right amount of color splashes to make any stay quite cozy. It's the ideal lodging alternative for those who want to feel like a local.

A WINDOW FIX

There's nothing like walking around the Big Apple taking in all the wonderful inspiration this city displays. Each neighborhood has its own flavor but still in keeping with that captivating New York vibe we can't get enough of. I know that's why I'm totally crushing on these illustrations by New York based graphic designer Jose Guizar. The Windows of New York project is his way of fostering his obsession with this magical Mecca. In his own words it is “a product of countless steps of journey through the city streets, this is a collection of windows that somehow have caught my restless eye out from the never-ending buzz of the city. This project is part an ode to architecture and part a self-challenge to never stop looking up”. How cool is that? These are not all. You must click over to Jose's cool website to enjoy the rest of these wonderful renderings.
