Another Tally Of Two Cities

THE FASHION

Do these look familiar? They probably do, since they're the latest creations from Vahram Muratyan's, co-founder of ViiiZ art direction and graphic design studio. Back in November, I dedicated a post to his magnificent and witty series Paris vs. New York. Since then, he has come up with new and brilliant graphics illustrating parallels between the two metropolis — they're all so great that I find it hard to pick a favorite. I can't wait to see what he comes up with next. If you're crazy about his work, you're in luck. Some of his genius prints are available for your walls here. And soon you'll be able to enjoy his work on T-shirts, hoodies, iPhone cases and iPad/laptop skins. How cool is that?

A Tally of Two Cities

After New York, Paris is my second favorite city in the world. Both are magical and stimulating and have that je ne sais quoi that makes my heart beat faster. As very important international destinations, Paris and New York are recognized by very particular icons. Vahram Muratyan, a lover of Paris wandering through New York's infinite details, has come up with a wonderful and humorous way of comparing these two capitals through a “visual but friendly match seen by clichés and contradictions”, called Paris vs. New York. I personally think they're genius. The prints can be purchased here. Enjoy!

Mark your calendar

Right around this time, we're used to going into stores and seeing a zillion very predictable wall calendars. They're usually the same size but different motives: from flora and fauna to shirtless firemen and hot sexy mamas. But because of the use of BlackBerrys and iPhones, less and less people are depending on them. Consequently, calendars have had to evolve, thank God! We're seeing new concepts and nifty ideas emerge to make the new generation more appealing to everyone. They're now more than just day organizers, they're must-have accessories for our home decor. I guess the promotional calendars given out in stores at the end of the year have come a long way. Here are some of my faves.

If you've always wanted to brag about your artistic talent, but there isn't one there, this is your big chance to do it. With these incredible and amusing wall stickers you can add so much to a space without having to deal with paint or the mess thereafter - it's a breeze. Better yet, you can go from tropical to abstract in no time. You can even have your own maintenance-free tweety-bird. I really think it's the perfect alternative to dressing up any stark wall an enhance the mood of any room. What's your choice? I'm between the tree trunks and the cage... Love them!
