AN EYE FOR INTERIORS

Her passion for photography and design is what inspired Dutch photographer Marjon Hoogervorst to shoot amazing spaces. Ever since she was young, Marjon spent time photographing her room with all her hand-crafted creations. To no surprise, she has become a stellar artist capturing the essence and soul of people's homes, like this stunning Amsterdam apartment. “The places where people live tell a lot about them. That's what inspires me—that's what I like to photograph most,” she says. I encourage you to take a few minutes to browse through her beautiful portfolio here. Enjoy it!

A STRIKING HABITAT

A casual and exclusive environment surrounded by black, white and gray welcomes guests everyday at the hip Hotel Habita in Monterrey, Mexico. Behind the minimalist, concrete front desk visitors can admire a wall mosaic made of hand-made mirrored tiles brought from India. Every single space in the hotel is sleek, dramatic and filled with timeless classics like Swan Chairs by Arne Jacobsen and furniture from avant-garde designer Rick Owens. The hyper-modern interiors were created by Parisian design extraordinaire Joseph Dirand, the creative mind behind the stupendous Hotel Distrito Capital in Mexico City—which I featured here not long ago. This one is most definitely going on my list of favorite boutique hotels.

SUNNY IN MANHATTAN

Who hasn't dreamed of living in a fabulous penthouse in New York City? Well, I have. Everyday. But for New Jersey interior designer Barbara Littman, that dream came true when she renovated this gorgeous space into an urban pied-à-terre. Wanting to be part of the hustle and bustle of this great city, Ms. Littman sought the guidance of architect and friend Robert D. Henry to help her create this sunny 2,400-square-feet modern haven. Although the color palette is rather limited, her choice of yellow as accent was a superb idea. It really warms up the space and makes a strong statement. I'm in love with this place. Aren't you?

LONDON CALLING

By mixing period and modern architecture, Michaelis Boyd Associates have transformed this Georgian London house into an impeccable piece of art. The architects have displayed a very sensitive use of materials while reinstating original features throughout. For some, this house might feel a bit sterile, but with the smart use of colors, particularly yellow, they have created a rather elegant yet hospitable environment. By the way, if by any chance you're moving to London any time soon, and feel like splurging, this glorious pad is for sale here. It is definitely calling my name. Happy weekend!

LOFTY & DREAMY

This stylish duplex in central Stockholm is anyone's dream apartment. With soaring high ceilings and an unusual floor plan, this dashing loft has everything to make me go weak in the knees: luscious space, white from floor to ceiling and a fun, eclectic collection of furniture. Obviously, that divine bathroom is also to die for.

ONCE UPON A TIME

Fairy tales have always been part of everyone's life. But every now and then, different versions of these classic children's stories we’ve grown to know and love are reinvented. As a matter of fact, they're not exclusively for kids anymore. Like the new TV series Once Upon A Time and the soon-to-be-released Snow White feature films, these tales get to be enjoyed by adults as well. These hyper-minimalist posters, designed by Christian Jackson, are also clever interpretations of these tales that you can own to keep alive those precious childhood memories. Just take a peek at the whole collection and perhaps you might not be able to resist the temptation to buy one here.

MY DESIGN ADDICTION

I never get tired of gushing over impeccable Scandinavian interiors. You know, I sort of have a weakness for this style. There's something so sexy about it that it's rather addictive. It's unreal how all these homes have flawless white floors—I guess it's almost part of their DNA. This particular flat, photographed by Copenhagen-based photographer , is home to Britt Marie Hørsted which he shares with his girlfriend and kid. The place is filled with great pieces of furniture, art and loads of personal touches. I'm totally crazy about the amazing batch of mid-century chairs they have all over. They almost become sculptural pieces in every room.

STAPLE MINIMALISM

These exceptional rooms are simply to die for. They're part of the impressive body of work of French architect and designer Joseph Dirand, famous for his minimalist designs and restrained color palette. By using simple yet strong lines and as few as three colors (black, gray and white), Dirand is a genius at creating powerful design stories in his spaces. There is no need to say much more, just take in the dignified beauty of these habitats.
