One of the many finds that caught my attention at ICFF this year, were these fun eco-friendly, handcrafted cardboard and paper wall clocks made by Tendo Studio. The Amarillo Clocks´ colorful hands break up the concentric rings and angles that look almost hypnotic, creating a fabulous design ideal for homes and offices. The hands are totally customizable. You get to choose from orange, green, blue, white, red or yellow so they can match perfectly with your decor. Aren't they fun?

NORDIC LIGHTS

Here's a tale of a small and great idea that gets a chance to be part of the Scandinavian design tradition. Bright Sprout is a wooden fixture designed by Danish Jonas Hoejgaard for Nordic Tales to hide the light bulb sockets on energy saving bulbs. With its clean Nordic design it turns an important everyday object into an aesthetic experience. Like with every other Nordic Tales product, Bright Sprout tells a story. And you're part of the story-telling as you get to choose from seven bright cord colors and the wood finish (soap finished or smoked oak). Besides its coo and minimalist design, the fixture arrives in a special designed packaging, inspired by a nutshell, that can be reused as a vase, pen holder or a fun decorative accessory. THINKING OUTSIDE THE BOX

How about this amazing line of furniture made completely, you guessed it, of cardboard. Australian company Karton is all about keeping things simple and easy. By following their basic fold and tab system (without the need of any tools or glue), you can put together a whole bedroom essemble, a complete office, funky storage units and even a dining room table that will give your guests plenty to talk about. Besides being an impossibly strong, exceptionally handsome and conveniently cheap way to sleep, sit, store or live, these designs are also 100% recyclable. AGRICULTURAL CHIC

One of my many dreams is to one day buy an old barn in need of some TLC and transform it into a ideal weekend retreat. So when I came across this fabulous home in Dwell, my heart sskipped a beat. This fantastic British Barn conversion made me a little jealous. The surprising use of oriented strand board (made from pressed tree chippings and resin) as a decorating element throughout the house is really refreshing and unexpected. Using this material in furniture, wall coverings and to cover complete rooms, the owners found a design muse in OSB and made quite a bold statement. What a special place to spend a weekend, wouldn't you say?

RE-TURNED

I'm loving how Norwegian craftsman and designer Lars Beller Fjetlandthat elevates leftover wood from being merely an ignored piece of trash to becoming a desired piece of feel-good woodcraft. These adorable Re-turned birds were probably once a part of and old table or a scrap of wood that never made it to the factory. SECOND-HAND CHIC

Home decorating doesn't need to be stressful or cost you your life savings. On the contrary, it should be great fun and can definitely be done on the cheap, trust me. All you need is a little imagination, patience and an adventurous spirit. This shabby but charming house in Borås, Sweden was a dream project for vintage-lover and interior stylist Johanna Flyckt. Together with her amateur carpenter husband, she was able to turn what once was an old and run-down house into a well-functioning family home. With lots of white, sheet metal and amazing finds she scored on her many trips to flea markets and vintage stores, she managed to created a delightful, warm and quirky haven for her kids. To add that personal touch, Johanna included old re-painted objects of great traditions, like metal letters, framed children's drawings and mementos from their travels. Paper is a versatile material with many uses, but it's not limited to writing, printing, drawing or packaging. It can also be used to make beautiful things to decorate your home with. These lovely vignettes shot by talented Dutch photographer Hotze Eisma will give you a few clever ideas on how to give this ancient material alternative uses.
