LESS IS MORE

Inspired by the classic Scandinavian style, OYOY is one of my favorite Danish decor companies. Primary designer Lotte Fynboe uses graphic shapes, color and exquisite materials superbly to create high-quality home accessories. Focussing on form and function, Lotte adds undertones of simple, Japanese design with her passion for combining colors and materials. Her “less is more” approach helps her conceive a unique blend of clean and functional design. Here are a few drool-worthy photos from their latest collection. I'm sure you'll want everything in it just as much as I do.

MOROCCAN CHIC

When I think of Morocco vivid colors, exotic aromas and a magical culture are the first things that pop in my mind. If describing Moroccan interiors, you'll most likely envision woods, colorful textiles and gilded touches. However, this rich style can be interpreted in many ways—you can go super elaborate or take a more modern and minimalist approach. Take for instance these beautiful and stylish spaces from El Ramla Hamra e-catalogue. They can be the perfect inspiration for you to bring a taste of Marrakesh into your lifestyle. By mixing a couple of pieces from this exuberant style with your own decor, you can create your own version of Moroccan Chic.

A CHAIR OUT OF THE BOX

I've seen several interpretations of cardboard furniture, but this latest find, by San Francisco-based designer Dan Goldstein, is one of my favorites. The Re-Ply Reclincer is made with just four layers of upcycled heavy-duty corrugated fiberboard that are cut, laminated, molded and folded into a strong, comfortable shell. The triangular steel base that supports it allows the chair to comfortably rock and recline. You can then use your creativity to dress it up to match your home decor. I'm impressed!

QUITE A GOOD FIND

This past weekend was a one for celebrating. I went up to Boston to help my best friend celebrate his birthday—we spent a couple of days eating, drinking and catching up. But of course, we had to fit in the mandatory leisurely stroll through the city's charming streets in search of cool finds. While exploring the historic neighborhood of Beacon Hill, and to escape the soft drizzle of an overcast Sunday afternoon, I stepped into GOOD, this marvelous boutique filled with a divine selection of accessories and unique furniture pieces. It was the perfect ray of light to brighten up a gray Fall afternoon. The shop is perfectly curated with an effortless and sophisticated look to showcase the eclectic collection of treasures, mostly one-of-a-kind pieces from artisans from around the country. So on your next trip to Boston, GOOD is definitely a spot you can't miss if you're a design addict like me.

INSTANT GRATIFICATION

I don't know if you're into Instagram, but if not, you're missing out on something really fantastic. I'm sort of addicted to the instant gratification by other people's quirky images and also by sharing with others all the cool and inspiring stuff that catch my eye. Last weekend, I took a mini break from the city and drove up to Provincetown, a charming New England town located at the extreme tip of Cape Cod, Massachusetts. I spent four glorious days of simply doing nothing but catching up on necessary rest, eating delicious food and partaking in a few cocktails. Besides chilling, I made good with my Instagram followers since it had been a while that I shared any snapshots with them. Here are some of the beautiful things that captivated me while roaming through the enchanting  streets of Ptown. If you don't already follow me in Instagram, you can find me under @TheDesignerPad to start getting your daily design fix. Enjoy!

STOCKHOLM DELIGHTS

A gem of a city, Stockholm is truly magical. The fact that it spreads out over 14 islands makes it a stunning setting and a unique place to visit. I immediately fell in love with it and left with the a strong desire to go back. There was much to see and do, that five days were not enough—especially with over 80 museums and attractions. For Swedes design is not a luxury but a lifestyle that comes natural and effortless. There isn't a spot in the Swedish capital that's not touched by that wonderful Scandinavian style. I can only imagine what the rest of the country looks like. Here are some photos of my visit to prove my point. Happy Sunday!

COPENHAGEN MEMORIES

If there's one thing I'm guilty about, it's not getting around to sharing my travel pictures soon after my trips. It usually takes me a few weeks to actually sit down and go through all my photos. It's not because I don't want to, but mostly because of the lack of time. Between my projects and my everyday errands, I barely have time left in the day to getting around to do it. So after threats from my friends and family, I felt the need to carve a few minutes off my weekend and edit. Here is a small sampling of some of my favorite shots of my Copenhagen visit. From a stunning boutique dressing room (above) to unexpected furniture finds, the Danish capital is full of beautiful vignettes worth a snapshot. Enjoy!
