SNUGGLY COOLNESS

How can you turn a simple empty bottle into a super chic flower vase? Germany-based design company Snug has found a cool solution for this. With just a few folds they have transformed a basic piece of cardboard and made the Snug Vase—a geometric sleeve to disguise a basic bottle or glass into a sculptural vessel to display your best blooms. Perfect timing since Spring is just around the corner :)

Trash To Treasures

This fun series of vases was created literally with trash found in the streets of Holland and later cast in naturally colored, creamy porcelain. The saturated pastel colors and the chalky, matte finish make for stunning handmade vessels that you can use to hold flowers or simply display as a collection. They come in the shape of a lotion bottle, dish detergent bottle, motor oil bottle and yogurt bottle. Aren't they great? Here's where you get them. For sure, these would make a fabulous Christmas gift.

The Tender Side of Power

I'm not sure if you know this about me, but I'm crazy about action figures... go figure! Ever since I was a kid, I've been passionate about them. So when I discovered these amusing interpretations I almost flipped. They happen to be part of an exhibit created to celebrate the second anniversary of Open Studio, a fabulous design firm in Dusseldorf, Germany. Owners and designers Kai Hoffmann and Julia Furtmann put together their first solo exhibition featuring a colorful bunch of brand new personal work — exclusively made for this special night. Their main theme for the show was colors. “We just wanted to experiment with colours, materials and dimensions,” explains Kai. Power Flower, the name given to this series of figurines, was part of this fun celebration. Did I mention I want them all? BTW, you must indulge yourself and take a peek at their fine and unique design work here, it's quite delightful.

Green Jewels

Terrariums often allow the most novice of gardener to show off a green thumb, especially those who love greenery in their pads but lack the time or space for a full-grown garden. There is a wide variety of terrariums in the market, but to find one that will go with a more contemporary decor is not an easy task. These slick miniature greenhouses, by Score + Solder, are beautifully designed to allow you to showcase your plants like little jewels. “A traveling gypsy, Matthew Cleland makes his beautiful pieces by hand, skills passed down through ten generations and continued by this magician. With a flask in one hand and a soldering iron in the other, he brings you one-of-a-kind pieces of art”. Happy Friday!

The daily flower

There is nothing I enjoy more than having fresh-cut flowers around my apartment every week. For me, they add that final touch that helps create a cozy home. I try to make Fridays ”Flower Day”. One of my favorite places to find a great selection is the the 28th Street Flower Market in New York. Sandra Bautista, a Spanish designer, is also a big fan of flowers and loves having them on her desk daily — a different one everyday. That's when she decided to create Fresh Flowers, a fun and creative way of satisfying her wish
