Design Storytelling

Every designer has his or her own creative process. Seyhan Ozdemir and Sefer Cagle, creative duo from Turkish design firm Autoban, use storytelling as a way to help them conceptualize their interior design projects. They see furniture as characters in a space that has a soul and a past, creating unique experiences in their interiors. Seyhan and Sefer's eclectic design style is influenced by nature, childhood memories and their many travels — and clearly from their colorful city Istanbul, which is filled with contrasts and surprises. Their style is somehow sublime yet filled with unpredicted fun moments. There's nothing about this smashing home I would change. I'm especially crazy about their phenomenal collection of lighting fixtures that star in every room's story. They're all dreamy

Divine Indulgence

Apparently, Malta is one of the new, up-and-coming destinations in the Mediterranean, and this stupendous 16th century townhouse rental for two is the perfect retreat that would make anyone's vacation super special. Its name Indulgence Divine says it all. This luxury holiday accommodation, located in the ancient city of Vittoriosa, was beautifully designed by London-based art director Gattaldo with a delightful use of color, whimsy and gorgeous custom-made furniture. I appreciate the sense of humor he injected into the space, particularly the fun and unexpected take on the wardrobe —simply magical. And the ice white built-in kitchen unit is drool-worthy. I have no words to express how much I'm loving this place.

A Relaxing Haven

This must have been a dream come true for architect and designer Philippe Phi — converting an old provincial winery into his own boutique hotel in the south of France. All five rooms in La Maison Pujol are simply to die for. Phi used vintage letters as protagonists infusing them with modern classics and the right touch of rustic, creating a very plush and sensual setting. Plus, the simple palate he chose helped achieve this mellow and intimate haven. The charming essence of this magnificent inn was beautifully captured by photographer Manolo Yllera.

Industrial Chic

Being the heart of a home, the kitchen must be a welcoming space since it's the place where everyone ends up congregating. The Studio Kitchen, shot by Danish photographer Stuart McIntyre, is for sure a place that I would love spending some time in — plus the beautiful way it was photographed makes me even drool about it. The most fascinating aspect of this room is the random mix of styles, although very successfully put together. The unexpected use of elements and odd accessories is very smart. From the china, old utensils, the blend of furniture to the mind-blowing yellow car suspended above the working area, this kitchen goes beyond traditional. And what's most amazing is that the uniqueness doesn't stop there, it spreads all the way through the sitting area where a very slick metallic silver couch awaits for someone to lounge on. This is the complete package and an absolute winner on my book.
