A VERY PERSONAL STYLE

Set in the gorgeous region of Alentejo, Portugal, this glorious country adobe is the peaceful retreat of designer Nuno Benito. His enviable collection of flea market finds, vintage Scandinavian furniture and family heirloom compliment each other beautifully in this house—giving it soul and personality. From quiet to bold, the area rugs play an important role in this home's decor as he feels they're the finishing touch that give warmth and humanity to every space. As for the accessories, he prefers to use older pieces that have some history and individuality.

MIXING AT ITS BEST

Tucked away deep into Segovia's dense forest, this lovely country house is the ultimate example of sustainable construction. The living room, with breathtaking countryside views, is a mid-century modern heaven with clever touches of rustic decor. Many of their beautiful treasures come from flea markets, like the cool desk from the 50s under the stairs. But others, believe or not, come from IKEA, like the red floor lamp, red dining chairs and glossy black kitchen cabinets. Talk about knowing how to be resourceful and mixing styles creatively.

BAUHAUS INSPIRED

Wonderful art, bright colors and mid-century classics harmoniously come together in this Bauhaus-inspired home in Copenhagen. The creative couple living in this vibrant house not always agreed on some of the decor decisions, but once a consensus was reached, a pretty amazing nest came about. As good artists, color was not an obstacle as they used it rather successfully to express their unique vision. I think the sunny yellow bathroom is one of my favorite rooms of this nest.

SCENT AND SENSIBILITY

One of the many things I loved about my trip to Stockholm last Summer was discovering one of my favorite fragrances to date—Pulp by the Swedish brand Byredo. My fascination started when I walked into the lobby of the Nobis Hotel which was infused by scented candles from this wonderful brand. Ever since I returned from my trip, I've noticed how popular Byredo has become in the fashion world, all thanks to the vision, passion and design sensibility of former professional basketball player Ben Gorham. Today, to my delight, I share with you his very Scandinavian home in Stockholm. His eclectic flat is a combination of new acquisitions mixed with old classics from the 1950s—particularly his collection of chandeliers. If you want to dig in more into Ben's wonderful style, you can do so in this great The New York Times Magazine article. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

IN THE MOOD FOR SPRING

Last year on my trip to Copenhagen, I visited, among many gorgeous spaces, this stunning apartment set up like a gallery/showroom right in the middle of the city. I have to say it was quite the treat. You might remember it from a post I did featuring The Apartment in all its glory. A few days back, I was pleasantly greeted by an email from its Co-founder and Creative Director Tina Seidenfaden Busck with pictures of the space newly decorated for Spring with the most amazing furnishings. I'm particularly enamored with the bench by Ilse Crawford (above) they've recently introduced in their kitchen. Come on, that tall back is to die for. Don't you think? Luckily, most the pieces in their beautifully curated vignettes are for sale in their site.

A FRENCH LOVE STORY

Do you believe in love at first sight? That's exactly what happened to the Norwegian designer Steinar Berg-Olsen and his partner Mark when they drove by this 1910 abandoned mansion in the French countryside. When the couple took over the house they found inspiration in its former glory and gave it a much needed facelift. Most of the furniture and accessories they used to create these beautiful vignettes are pieces they have collected along the years. I can't say enough nice things about this place. I'm quite fascinated with it. Happy weekend!

A PEACEFUL SPACE

The ultimate simplicity of Finnish design is what makes this airy country home a peaceful and tranquil environment. Homeowner Ulla Koskinen, designer for Finnish firms like Marimekko and Artek, worked alongside her husband to create this magnificent open-layout floorplan for their home—where they both live and work. Using concrete, wood and glass, combined with mostly a gray and black palette, they achieved a very clean yet rustic feel. Much of the wood used in the construction came from fallen trees around the property. "The best thing about living here is the wide-open space, the peaceful feeling and the calming views. And that we are now more aware and sensitive to change of seasons,” explained Ulla to Nuevo Estilo.

A DREAMY FLAT TO CALL HOME

It doesn't matter from which angle you look at this Parisian flat, you can find the touch of a designer (or two) behind its stunning design. Patrick Gilles & Dorothée Boissier, who run an architecture and design studio, have renovated this 19th-century apartment into their dream home. Through the transformation, they saved all the original glory the apartment had and brought into play, to contrast, they're modern design concept. The artwork is to die for, especially how it's randomly placed throughout the space. Of course, a lot of the furniture we see here was designed by the talented duo to make sure it fit their impeccable taste. Thank you Yatzer for enlightining us with this beauty.
