I've been meaning to give this vintage chair that I scored at a second-hand store a much needed makeover. But honestly, I haven't found the time to actually getting around to doing it. It was until the folks at Glidden recently asked me to give their new Glidden Diamond™ Paint a try that I saw the light and decided to finally give this treasure the TLC it really deserved.

I decided to paint the chair a color similar to its original color so I went for their Universal Grey. Since it was showing some wear and tear, I was hoping this new paint will outdo itself on its excellent hide and coverage features. And let me tell you it certainly lived up to its expectations. It only took a couple of coats for the chair to look brand new. Besides, it's paint + primer combo also made the project go super fast.

But don't take my word for granted. You can give Glidden Diamond™ a test drive since my friends at Glidden are sponsoring this giveaway and are offering up to 5 gallons of Glidden Diamond™ to a lucky winner. C'mon give it a try and enter below. Unfortunately, only US residents can participate.

Working in staging projects has taught me that time if of essence, especially when having to paint rooms in literally a couple of hours. In order to save myself some time I'm in constant search of new paint products with the best coverage and blocking power. Luckily, I was recently introduced to Glidden® Complete —a paint + primer, stain blocking paint that's truly magical. Besides making my painting project super easy, I could not beat how affordable a gallon of this paint was. I used two tones of blue for my project: a softer, light blue (Clerestory Blue) for the larger wall, and a richer, steal blue (Brittany Inn) for an accent wall leading to the bedroom that would anchor a small credenza and a wall mirror. The results: a gorgeous balance of soothing and rich hues that added depth and texture to the walls.

If you're soon to embark on a DIY project of your own, you're in luck. You can now win up to five gallons of Glidden® Complete (in the color of you choice) by entering this fab giveaway sponsored by our friends at Glidden®. How groovy is that? Here's how to do it:

With the Holidays fast approaching and the family gatherings closing in it's always a good idea to have extra seating around the house. So I recently decided to expand on my seating inventory by creating this fun bench using two old chairs I had found in a second-hand store not long ago. Honestly, it didn't take much to transform the chairs into this chic settee. You can take a peek at this step-by-step guide here. Also if you're a DIY aficionado and would like to explore more fun projects like this one you must then take a few minutes to explore the list of DIY projects in the How-To section of MyColortopia here. Enjoy!

As a DIY'elfer I'm always in the lookout for new products that will make my projects go smoothly and get the best results possible. For me, a good quality paint is key for achieving those goals. One of my favorite hobbies is transforming old pieces of furniture and giving them a modern look without compromising their original charm. I'm glad to have been introduced to Glidden® Trim, Door & Furniture Paint and its amazing lacquer-like finish that leaves anything that touches looking shiny and new. This oil-base paint is so rich and thick that it practically erases any minor imperfections my newfound treasures might have. And the best part: I never see any brush marks or drips while or after applying it.

I used this awesome paint to revive this old desk and on to create an side table for my outdoor living space. As you can see the finish on both pieces is flawlessly beautiful and smooth with an extra high gloss sheen I simply love. Trust me, this paint is like butter!

A couple of weeks ago I received a very exiting invitation. As a participating contributor of MyColortopia team, I was asked to help launch Glidden Paints new Smarter Way to WOW! campaign. The event took place last Thursday night at a stunning penthouse in New York City. It was definitely a fun evening. I had the amazing opportunity to talk to different media outlets like This Old House, O, The Oprah Magazine and The Snug, among others, about the brand's quality products for less. La pièce de résistance of the night: the Wow! vs. Whoa! living room vignette designed by Erica Domesek from the very popular brand PS, I Made This. The DIY diva transformed the venue into a living room styled with high-end furnishings mixed with DIY pieces.

Thanksgiving has come and gone and it's now time to 'Deck The Halls With Boughs And Holly'. This year I was invited by Home Depot to participate in their super fun Holiday Style Challenge. They basically sent be a whole bunch of mystery boxes filled with Holiday goodies to decorate decorate one of the rooms in my pad. Part of the challenge consisted in choosing materials found in their stores and giving them a different use for my Holiday decor. This is how this easy DIY Holiday Wreath project came about. Browsing through their isles I came across Felt Weatherseal which I felt was the prefect material to use in this challenge. Actually it was spot on to create this cozy Holiday ornament. Here's how you can make your own:

The moment I walked into the gorgeous studio/showroom of design duo Megan Sommerville and Matt Ensner in upstate New York I knew I was in for a treat. Not only did I get to meet one of the most talented couples I've ever met, but also was dazzled by the beautiful craftsmanship in their furniture and lighting collection. Founders of Materia Designs, the couple moved to the Hudson Valley a few years back to start their business where they bought an old bungalow in need of loads of TLC. With their creative spirits in overdrive, Megan and Matt didn't think twice to roll up their sleeves and emerged themselves into a challenging renovation. Luckily for us, they have opened the doors of 'The Cape' (as they like call it their nest) to showcase the stunning transformation and the results of their hard work. I recently chatted with Megan about their project of love and some of the ins and outs of the design process. Here is what she said:
