LEANING BEAUTY

I'm always in constant search of innovative pieces of furniture for my projects. Especially when working in small spaces where I need to get creative and make the most of the limited square footage. So scoring multi-functional pieces is always a good thing. Take for instance the Lean Man Side — a smart looking side table/bookshelf designed by Frank Flavell. Its slim and minimalist design makes it ideal as a night stand or side table. I guess I hit the jackpot!

HIGH AND MIGHTY

Although white seems to be the color of choice in this fabulous Stockholm penthouse, it doesn't feel cold at all. The beautiful rustic tile floors, the wooden architectural details and the eclectic collection of furniture adds enough warmth to this attic apartment. Besides, this big white canvas opens up the possibilities to any decor style. It's fantastic. Happy weekend!

HANG IT ALL

The timeless classic coat rack by Charles and Ray Eames has always been a favorite of mine. Although I loved the original Hang-It-All version with the multi-colored lacquered balls, I'm elated to see new colors added the collection. Now an all-black and all-white versions available for those who want to keep things to a minimal — like moi. It was about time!

A STUDY IN CONTRAST

If you're a social media junkie, then you've probably tried your hand at Tumblr. And if you've ever wondered how the company's young founder and CEO lives then you're in for a treat. The New York Times T Magazine recently published David Karp's newly renovated Williamsburg, Brooklyn loft, giving us peek into the high-tech design leader's crib. Contrary to what everyone would expect, his loft is not futuristic and high-techy at all. As a matter of fact his style leans more towards the old and rugged—hence the exposed bricks, reclaimed wood and weather concrete in this amazing home. Actually, it's quite fascinating to see the contrast between his two worlds. By the way, you can learn more about David style and his home here. Happy weekend!

RELAXED SOPHISTICATON

There's nothing that makes me happier than a beautifully designed home collection, especially when created by world-famed designer Paola Navone. Well, perhaps delicious food, shopping and traveling. Ok, but back to what's making so excited today. The multi-talented Italian designer recently launched her tableware and furnishings collections exclusively designed for Crate & Barrel. All three collections, Como, Mallorca and Riviera, are "dedicated to many different houses... joyful and delicate, imaginative and poetic, classic and timeless." The collection has an air of simplicity and a relaxed sophistication that make the pieces an easy fit with any style. It's fresh and elegant at the same time. What can I say? I'm totally crushing on it. This is one not to be missed!

DELICIOUSLY DESIGNED

Can you guess what these are? I know, the popsicle stick sort of gives it away. But I bet you had never seen a popsicle so incredibly genius as these. The KYL21 is a new take on the classic popsicle—a real masterpiece of avant-garde cuisine. The molecular design popsicles are created by Berlin designer and chef David Marx. Unfortunately, they're not available for everyone, just a few lucky attendees at fashion shows, film premieres and VIP parties in the German capital. But be patient since this über cool dessert will hit the market next Spring. Yumm! I can't wait!!

INDUSTRIAL BONES

I always feel the true essence of a place should survive any renovation, especially when talking about old homes. If anything, it adds character and interest to the transformed space. I think it's pretty neat how these Amsterdam dwellers left industrial traces from the original building to be part of their new home's look. The original steel beams and ceiling create a interesting contrast with their more relaxed and rustic decor. Also, by using wood throughout they softened the austere feel of the industrial bones, adding warmth and coziness to the house.

A KNACK FOR LIGHTING

I'm totally having a crush on these gorgeous lamps designed and handcrafted by artist and woodworker Ryden Rizzo. His lighting fixtures, sold at Allied Maker, are beautifully made by him in his Sea Cliff, NY studio. I personally love their simple yet elegant design and the perfectly balanced proportion between wood and metal. To me they're almost pieces of art. Happy weekend!
