A GUESTHOUSE WITH A TWIST

One this is to stay in a bed & breakfast filled with a unique collection of mid-century modern treasures, but then be able to buy them is something else. Bea Mombaers had the rather unique idea to transform an old Belgian farmhouse into a fabulous B&B where her guests can shop their way through their stay. I know I would walk away with a couple of pieces from her collection.

NOTHING FISHY ABOUT THIS HOME

It sure takes a certain dose of imagination to be able to turn an old fisherman's cottage into a magnificent home like this one in a coastal town not far from Copenhagen. Between old and new, the medley of furniture is fantastic. The neutral color scheme—with sprinkles of red, copper and wood—hightens the warmth of the place. A BRASSY COMEBACK

Metallics have always been in vogue, but usually only one dominates the market setting a shiny trend. For some time now stainless steel and platinum have been ruling the world, but after many years of being the underdog brass is swaying its way back to the top once more. I'm so glad this metal's golden tones are gleaming in the design stratosphere yet again. So here are some fun pieces that will definitely brighten up your decor while jumping on this trend. Are you glad brass is back?

DRAMATIC AND SEXY

There's always room for dark and handsome interiors in my book. Although some people might feel a dark color palette can make a room look gloomy and smaller, this sexy French home makes a good case for the opposite. The secret is in mixing different shades of gray and black to create dimension and interest in every room. In this particular abode, the use of white, cream and wood accents add the right amount of light to complement the stunning dark hues. Talk about drama!
