How thrilled would any kid be with this adorable doll house that also doubles as a coffee table? Both, little ones and grown ups can enjoy the beautiful design of the Qubis Haus. Sliding panels with windows and doors already engraved on them are used to create the various rooms in the house. But that's not all. You can also turn this table/house into a multi media center by sliding your iPad into the grooves for you and your kids to watch and play. Most definitely, it's a genius gift for a modern family or just for those that love cool designs.

I've always believed the difference is in the details, a creed I live by as a designer. They say everything about ourselves and often are a wonderful way of adding traces of our personality into our homes. For me, art is a great instrument to do just that. But when it comes to choosing the right piece of artwork, most people feel intimidated by the challenge. Thanks to the internet and the high demand for original pieces at affordable prices, different alternatives have been emerging to make this process quite painless. While surfing the web the other day looking for pieces for one of my projects, I came across Saatchi Online — a terrific resource for cool and unique artwork by emerging artist from around the world. It's a rather neat way of showcasing and selling their pieces and giving art lovers insider access to their talent. I truly fell in love with their whole collection, but particularly with the work of these photo montage artists. Whether a first-time buyer or a serious art collector, you can now buy amazing originals and prints from the comfort of your home with just a few clicks of your mouse. How cool is that?

I've always had a crush with the color black. Probably for it's strong and bold presence among other colors in the spectrum. It's such an easy hue to work with since it's one of the few colors that tie everything together in a room. Whether used as an accent or as the primary color in interiors, black always conveys sophistication and modernism. This sharp-looking house is one of the properties shown in Housing Fair Finland. I love the fact they used black as the predominant color in this home's decor. Although some might feel it makes it look impersonal and cold, the addition of wood furnishings throughout adds the right touch of warmth to each of the rooms. By the way, I would have never thought of painting the ceiling black, but I applaud them for such a bold move. Quite the stunner!

Metallics have always played a strong role in home decor, but the on-trend metallic for the incoming season seems to be copper. This precious metal has evolved from a patina-like finishes to a very sleek and shiny surface. Thanks to its new renaissance, I've been seeing an avalanche of copper furnishings everywhere I go. From kitchen appliances to trendy bicycles, the selection is quite extensive. Its beautiful color makes it easy to mix with other natural materials and works beautifully with pastels, grays and earth tones... and of course, black. Now, there's no need to go crazy with this trend, adding one or two touches of cooper in your decor will be just right. Here are just a few of my favorite picks from the trend. (Love the bike!)

There's nothing like an area rug to add personality to a home. Sometimes it even becomes the point of departure when decorating a room. Besides making a visual statement in a space, rugs are great for defining specific areas in a layout. If you’re looking for practicality as well as beauty a wool rug is your best bet—it's gorgeously soft and rather durable. Being a luxurious fibre, wool brings extra comfort and warmth to your abode. Its durability makes wool rugs ideal for areas that see a lot of foot traffic. They come in a variety of colors, patterns, textures and plies. But patterned carpets are less likely to show dirt and are more forgiving on busy areas like family rooms, dining room, halls, stairs and landings. Since wool is a recyclable and naturally flame-resistant fibre, wool rugs are a smart choice if you want to help the environment. Besides being a valuable investment that will serve you for many years to come, wool rugs are the epitome of practicality and style.

The rich mix of styles from different periods and places is what makes this stunning Brussels house so special. Actually, it is a home/gallery with a decor that changes every so often depending on the owners' need to exhibit new incoming pieces. The Ampersand House and Gallery is a place where to be creative and constantly experiment with design. Although mostly a modernist decor, eclecticism reigns in this home.

You're the lucky winner of the $50 gift certificate from our friends at Urban Walls. You can use it towards the purchase one of their fun decals for Emma Antonella's room. I'm sure any of them will make splash in your baby's room. Enjoy!!

The weekend is finally here and I'm getting ready to go upstate to check on a project I've been working on for the last few months (a very exciting project I will be sharing with you down the line). We'll be spending the night at our friend's beautiful country house, what sort of inspired me to feature this sweet, turn-of-the-century farmhouse. Every room is classically rustic where white and soft natural tones intermingle with the rich textures of wood and leather—creating an exciting feeling and a wonderful mix. The perfect setting for a relaxing weekend. Have a great one!
