MOROCCAN CHIC

When I think of Morocco vivid colors, exotic aromas and a magical culture are the first things that pop in my mind. If describing Moroccan interiors, you'll most likely envision woods, colorful textiles and gilded touches. However, this rich style can be interpreted in many ways—you can go super elaborate or take a more modern and minimalist approach. Take for instance these beautiful and stylish spaces from El Ramla Hamra e-catalogue. They can be the perfect inspiration for you to bring a taste of Marrakesh into your lifestyle. By mixing a couple of pieces from this exuberant style with your own decor, you can create your own version of Moroccan Chic.

LOADED STATEMENTS

I'm not in favor of gun possession at all, but this handsome slip-cast ceramic lamps are worth the exception. How fun are these 9mm and AK-47 lamps? Handmade by Ryan Weigner from Loaded Objects Ceramics, they're seductive and thought provoking pieces that will make a striking design statement in any space. I can see a couple of these quirky AK-47's on my night stands—they would look amazing.

HOOKED ON HOOKS

I have a thing for hooks and always get über excited when I come across new designs that go beyond the expected. I love the simplicity of this modular version conceived by German industrial designer Sarah Böttger in collaboration with Meike Langer. The H2 hooks are made of a synthetic material and can be connected to create a fabulous sculptural rack for the foyer or bathroom. Even when not being used, the grouping will become a fun decorative piece for your wall. Fun!

FORM & FUNCTION

Inspired by the timeless design of the light bulb, these minimalist pendants are refined to a beautiful abstraction. The Form pendants are designed by Studio Form Us With Love, in collaboration with Design House Stockholm, as tthree glass pendants blown in simple, geometric shapes—a circle, a rectangle and a triangle. However, the pendant's uniqueness comes from the interplay between the shapes. They can be hung together as a floating installations to give create more drama and add character to any room. How gorgeous would a grouping of these look over a dining room table? Divine!

CLASSIC SIMPLICITY

Sometimes the simplest things are the most lasting and memorable. Originally designed for the Hotel Astoria in Trondheim, Norway, the Topan pendant is a brilliant example of such simplicity. It was the first mass produced lamp by Verner Panton, later to be followed by the Flower Pot. Whether in its own or hung on a cluster, the Topan's classic coolness can be easily added to any decor to make a lasting impression.

HELLO GORGEOUS!

Danish furniture and home decor company Normann Copenhagen has a thing for lamps. They have an amazing collection and just recently added this quirky Hello floor lamp to their lighting family. Designed by the Swedish designer Jonas Wagell, Hello adds light and character to its surroundings through its simple, clear and playful character. Its futuristic design combines a large shade with an acrylic diffuser to create soft and pleasant light with a simple rod of solid birch. Normann is not only known for great lighting. Their furniture and home accessories are also quite fantastic. Every time I walked into a store in Copenhagen, I would see their goodies and just wanted to buy them all—except my suitcase wasn't big enough :( Happy weekend!!
