A couple of weeks ago I received a very exiting invitation. As a participating contributor of MyColortopia team, I was asked to help launch Glidden Paints new Smarter Way to WOW! campaign.The event took place last Thursday night at a stunning penthouse in New York City. It was definitely a fun evening. I had the amazing opportunity to talk to different media outlets like This Old House, O, The Oprah Magazine and The Snug, among others, about the brand's quality products for less. La pièce de résistance of the night: the Wow! vs. Whoa! living room vignette designed by Erica Domesek from the very popular brand PS, I Made This. The DIY diva transformed the venue into a living room styled with high-end furnishings mixed with DIY pieces.
In the spirit of an Agatha Christie mystery novel, guests were invited to inspect the room in search of the DIY or Wow! pieces versus those with a higher value tag (Whoa), including a Glidden-painted wall and another one painted with a more expensive brand. This amusing exercise was designed to prove there's no need to spend a fortune to achieve a Wow factor.
Let me tell you, it was a rather entertaining soirée where I was able to put faces to names and mingle among some of New York's top design editors. By the way, finally meeting my fellow MyColortopia blogger Stephanie Schiada from Brooklyn Limestone was rather lovely. Let's hope this is the first of many to come.
