A WORLD OF BAMBOO

Trying to raise awareness for sustainability in our planet, Danish designer Kristoffer Zeuthen created this gorgeous globe made out of bamboo. Besides sitting pretty on your desk, the globe can also double as a lamp as it's equipped with a light bulb inside. The grain of the bamboo adds a beautiful texture to the world's terrain. I want one!

Do they sell these awesome pieces of art? I took a look at Kristoffer Zeuthen's portfolio and was blown away by how beautifully simple the designs were. Somewhere in my attic is a wooden globe from my grandfather, that would look great with a tung oil finish. I am going to attempt to recreate this look, even though it doesn't contain any bamboo. I really appreciate the message that this artist is promoting; we should all look for more sustainable materials in this day and age. Being eco-friendly may be trendy, but it has many benefits if you actually attempt to better the environment. I can't wait to place this wood finish on my globe. I will do my best to send you some pictures of the final product. Thank you for the inspiration.
