THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL

Do you often debate if and how to add color to your walls? Don't worry, you're not alone. This five-letter word can make some people queasy. When looking to revamp your home, color is always a great way of injecting character and personality to a rather dull interior. So dare to play the color game with these neat tricks and ideas that will help you add life, charm and drama to your decor. Come on, you know you can do it.

1. If the room in question is a small one like entryways and foyers, choose a strong color and play with patterns and contrasts in order to make a statement.

2. Create a chair rail effect by painting a couple of horizontal stripes of different widths at the bottom of a wall. Black is a perfect choice if you want to urbanize any pastel-colored room.

3. If a monochromatic color scheme is what you're looking for, paint the walls in the room the same color of your furniture to visually tie them together. This will create a calm and unified room that will better showcase your favorite accessories.

4. Still not sure about making the move towards color? There's no need to fully jump into it. Take baby steps by picking a complimentary color to your decor and paint a portion of a wall. Think of it as color blocking. Or perhaps, add an element of surprise by using stencils or play with perspective by paiting a graphic element on the wall.

LOVE these simple but really great looking colors/stencils/designs. SO much more fun than stuffy old ( and expensive) mouldings, and trims.

Thank you for sharing the pictures of this elegant house. I must say, the owner has a very simple and yet astonishing choice of furniture.
