GIVEAWAY: Chicago Spaces

Sorry, but entries for this giveaway are no longer accepted.

People are always in search of decor inspiration to make their pads more beautiful and stylish. An easy and accessible way to get decorating ideas and smart solutions is through books, especially when they include work from various interior designers. The editors of Chicago Home + Garden magazine have done just that for us, publishing Chicago Spaces, a gorgeous coffee table book showcasing work from big name designers such as Nate Berkus and Alessandra Branca. The book features Chicago homes, not just in their entirety, but also focusing on specific rooms. With 224 pages of eye candy, “this gorgeous coffee table book is devoted not only to showing these dwellings in all their splendor, but also telling the stories of how they came to be.” Chicago Spaces is a must for any design-lover, and certainly one who loves Chicago. If you want to be one of the first ones to get a copy of this fab book, then you must enter our giveaway, made possible by the kindness of the editors.
Good luck to all!

Living. Serving. Holding the bar high and rising to it. Gathering. Eating. Relaxing. Respecting space. Creating identity. Making an approachable environment. Hanging out. Inspiring. Encouraging. Holding. Working hard. Comforting. Answering. Staying organized. Having quality conversations. Hoping. Pursuing thoughtful, compassionate relations with friends, family, neighbors, co-workers, and their friends, families, neighbors and co-workers. Loving. Having a place for safety. Beauty. Identity. Understanding. Strength. Becoming a good communicator and a better person. Promoting the flow of values and ethics. Encouraging. Following the industry. Exploring innovation. Looking at the big picture. Thinking.

A home promotes all these things, but not without a quality, inspired space.

I find my inspiration in so many ways. I love to get ideas from blogs, too, as well as magazines, catalogs and fabulous books like "Inspiring Interiors" seems to be.

But I also find the colors, patterns, typography, contrast, shapes, in antique shops, friends and families' homes, daily objects, clothing, schools, artwork, plants, grids, photos, museums, the list goes on!

Just as important as what feeling each room gives, designers understand that the relation of space within a room is just as important as what fills it. That's why it's great to look how rooms look in movies, TV shows, galleries, theaters, offices, stores, and restaurants for inspiration.

I get my design inspiration from so many places, but mostly from things that I love. I love my kids and I want to design beautiful, functional spaces where they can live and grow and become people. They give me my inspiration to start the job, and to make my spaces beautiful I look to blogs, shelter mags, colour, art and music.

When I was kid I used to look at home decor magazines at my local store for inspiration, that was my favorite thing to do when my parents took me shopping although they never bought me one because they were so expensive, and they still are. Now I get my inspiration mostly from blogs like this awesome blog and decor8 and also from lots of tumblogs I just love interior design! So much! I wish I had the opportunity to study it! I'm going to try! Everyday there is something that will inspire us...
