A brush of excitement

After black and white, red is the most commonly encountered color in our lives. An interesting fact: not all languages have a word for green, blue, yellow or orange, but all have a word for red. Of all the colors, it's considered to be the most vibrant and stimulating of all. Lipstick Red, a gorgeous hue with a pinch of blue undertones, will certainly inject a bit of warmth and excitement to a room.
But don't get too excited an go all Dexter on your walls as it can be a little jarring if overdone. I've always felt that red should have a supporting role and not the lead. It is perfect when used in accent pieces like side chairs, tables, lamps, accessories and of course a fun wallpaper. But if you feel you need to take baby steps, red flowers will give any room that hint of passion it deserves. Remember, red makes a powerful statement when done right.
