A Rental Showcase

Most likely renters won't make any improvements on their rental property, but sometimes a little TLC can make a huge difference. That was the case for the occupants of this bright and airy 1950's flat in Madrid. Although not a drastic transformation, they decided to make some minor changes before moving in. They knew they wanted a neutral space where their existing pieces of furniture and artwork could live harmoniously. White was the call for the walls, as it emits peace and tranquility. And to add some warmth and texture to some of the rooms, floral wallpaper was the easiest way to pull it off.

Their goal was to have a place for each of their paintings and sculptures, giving them enough breathing room to be showcased properly — like the dramatic and sculptural lamp (above) by German artist Tobias Regeberger and the stunning black and white photo by Costa Rican photographer Allegra Pacheco. Their taste in furniture is also superior. Most of their furnishings are restored mid-century pieces mixed in with new ones. Overall, this amazing home excels in modern sophistication!
