DIY: Gorgeous fluffy lamp

Living in a small space, I often find myself moving things around and changing the way things look in my pad. I'm the one who's always coming up with little, or sometimes not so little, projects to do around the house. I especially love those that end up with crazy, amazing results. I recently found a fantastic DIY project here that I went bananas over. Nichole Loiacono-Young, from New York City, was looking to revamp her beautiful dining room by creating a fabulous globe lamp. My guess is that she was trying to recreate the look of the not-so-cheap Pluma Cubic lamp. And let me tell you, I think she did a terrific job with this one. She definitely got that fluffy, feathery look of the inspiration by using coffee filters – how ingenious is that? Congratulations Nichole on a job well done and thank you for inspiring us all.

Now it's your turn to give it a try.

HOW SHE DID IT: Nichole basically used a large paper lantern that you can buy here and patiently glued the coffee filters very close together to get that crumpling effect.

PS: If you have done any amazing DIY projects you are very proud of and want to share them with us, please send me an email with the before and after pictures. I would love to see them. Cheers!

VIa Parlour, thanks you!
