YOU'VE GOT MAIL

This is no ordinary mailbox. It's witty and modernistic representation of a bird makes it a quite charming mail holder. Designed by Bill Playso from the Australian lifestyle brand Playso, the Koo Koo was meant to add a touch whimsy and curb appeal to any front yard. The wing was strategically designed to hold the larger pieces of mail. Triple love!

A VERY PERSONAL STYLE

Set in the gorgeous region of Alentejo, Portugal, this glorious country adobe is the peaceful retreat of designer Nuno Benito. His enviable collection of flea market finds, vintage Scandinavian furniture and family heirloom compliment each other beautifully in this house—giving it soul and personality. From quiet to bold, the area rugs play an important role in this home's decor as he feels they're the finishing touch that give warmth and humanity to every space. As for the accessories, he prefers to use older pieces that have some history and individuality.

SWEET AND SUNNY

We've been bombarded with quite a few late April showers in the last couple of days—and unfortunately the forecast doesn't seem promising. So in hopes of bringing the sunshine back to the Big Apple, I thought some outdoor eye candy would be the perfect antidote. If you're getting ready to start designing your outdoor rooms, these sweet and quirky spaces have the perfect elements to make your Summer a sunny one. Happy weekend!

A TINY PARISIAN JEWEL

One really needs to get creative when space becomes a luxury. I'm amazed how this micro apartment in Paris was designed to fit everything needed to live comfortably. French design firm betillon / dorval-bory used a minimalist approach in its design where light becomes an important element to compartmentalize the space. Using white as its primary color was key in making the apartment look more spacious than it actually is. This proves that square footage doesn't actually matter that much, and it's how you take advantage of it that counts.

A KITCHEN'S NEW LIFE

There's nothing like having a spacious and cozy kitchen that will motivate you to cook delicious meals for the family. That's what London-based photographer Aby Campbell was aiming for when she renovated her newly-bought house. To achieve the warmth she was looking for, Aby took inspiration from the time she spent in upstate New York and used panelling on the walls and ceiling of the kitchen—a sure way to add character to any room. I love the fact tha she did without wall cabinets, a smart move on her part to make the room feel larger. There isn't a thing I don't like about this space. Every single nook in this kitchen screams good taste, plus her attention to detail is beyond amazing.

A FACTORY OF POSSIBILITIES

It's hard to believe this bright and impeccable dwelling was once an old factory building in Berlin's city center. After relocating from London, Eve and Gerard Ruecker were in the hunt for a quiet, light-filled oasis in the middle of the German capital —a not-so-easy find in such a urban city. But when they found this crumbling factory, they instantly fell head-over-hills in love with its charm and saw plenty of potential in it. They hired the German architectural firm Miethe+Quehl to help them transform the industrial structure into a home with the Scandinavian flair they were going for: an ultra comfortable environment with a clean and minimalist approach. After completeing the long renovation, the Rueckers got the stunning oasis the had hoped for.

A WISH COME TRUE

My little Frenchie Oliver has always dreamt of having a little dog house, but living in a 500 square-foot NYC apartment hasn't giving me the chance to grant his wish. But, this adorable dog house set by Six Hands might just do the trick. The house/bed combo is made of Douglas Fir Plywood and a comfy Natural Cotton Canvas. Although both pieces can be bought separately, Oliver thinks they're the cutest when put together. Don't you agree?

A LITTLE BIT OF MAGIC

It doesn't take much to convert your nest into the space you've always dreamt of. With a little creativity, some TLC and a gallon or two of paint, you can really do magic. That's what Sofia and Nils did when they moved into this sweet Stockholm apartment. Wanting to visually stretch the space, they painted the whole apartment, including the floors and trims, white. They also thought that by removing the old closets and creating custom built-in shelves to display their books and accessories, the apartment would feel more personalized. Like many DIYers, Sofia is a flea market junkie. She has a knack for spotting amazing finds she can later transform into cool-looking pieces to add to her industrial chic home.
